The Nevada SHIP program was originally located within the Nevada Division of Insurance and officially became a part of the Aging and Disability Services Division in 1992. Since that time, the program has seen a steady increase. In fact, in the last five years alone, SHIP has seen a 58.5% increase in client contacts. More Nevada SHIP Facts are available here. The State Health Insurance Assistance Program, or SHIP, is a state-based program that offers local one-on-one counseling and assistance to people with Medicare and their families. Through CMS and state funded grants, SHIP's provide free counseling and assistance via telephone and face-to-face interactive sessions, public education presentations and programs, and media activities.
