Medicare.gov, the official U.S. Government site for Medicare, provides tools for recipients to find and compare doctors, hospitals and other providers. Through this tool, you can find out about the services offered, make side-by-side comparisons on the care they provide and more, and get helpful tips on choosing providers and plans.
It's convenient, quick and easy. There's no need to drive to a local Social Security office or wait for an appointment with a Social Security representative. Use our online application to sign up for Medicare. It takes less than 10 minutes. Social Security will process your application and contact you if more information is needed. Otherwise, you'll receive your Medicare card in the mail. Medicare is managed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Social Security works with CMS by enrolling people in Medicare.
